TEACHING
I am passionate about education and seek to impart on my students a love for biology and empower them by teaching them the skills they need to succeed in the classroom, the lab, the field, and beyond. See my teaching statement or explore below for some of the ways I make teaching a top priority.
Student Research Projects While the classroom can serve as a powerful center of learning, I believe that active involvement in research is an essential component of a student's education. I have had the great privilege of working with a number of outstanding undergraduates on a broad range of research projects, from the bench to the field. If you are a student interested in trying some research, contact me! |
Education and Outreach Science is fun! Sharing my knowledge and passion for biology has been an ongoing priority, and I've participated in a range of outreach activities including serving as an "expert botanist" to 2nd graders, leading SLEWS habitat restoration projects with local high schools, and acting as an online science mentor through PlantingScience. If you need an enthusiastic plant biologist for your cause, please contact me! |
Teaching Experience
I believe strongly in education and have served as a teacher and mentor in a range of capacities. From training at the Dartmouth Center for the Advancement of Learning to a fellowship with Professors for the Future, I have had outstanding opportunities to build my teaching skills. I have also taught in the classroom and laboratory in a range of courses and greatly look forward to developing new courses in the future. For more information on my teaching experience, please see my CV. |
